Alpha Aviation Inc. has introduced a lower-cost FAA-PMA electric fuel transfer pump designed as a replacement for commonly used Facet systems in a range of legacy aircraft.
The new unit is intended to replace Facet part number 478360, along with several OEM equivalents, while maintaining expected performance standards for older fuel systems.
For Piper owners, the applicability is notable. The pump is compatible with several 14-volt aircraft, including:
- PA-28 series models
- PA-38 Tomahawk
- PA-24 Comanche 250
- PA-23 Apache and Aztec variants
As many of these aircraft continue to age, sourcing original equipment components has become more difficult and expensive. FAA-PMA alternatives like this are increasingly being used to help manage both cost and availability while keeping aircraft in service.
According to Alpha Aviation, the pump is designed as a plug-and-play solution, allowing it to integrate with existing fuel systems without major modification.
The company notes that the product aligns with FAA guidance for parts substitution in vintage aircraft, offering another option for owners and maintenance shops dealing with aging components.
The electric fuel transfer pump is available now through Alpha Aviation.
