April 9, 2020-Piper issued Vendor Service Publication No. 271 relating to Continental motors installed in several Piper models. The letter updates required maintenance procedures on the fuel screen assembly for affected airplanes.
Affected engines are equipped with a throttle and control assembly that use a fuel screen. Those that do not include this fuel screen assembly are not affected.
Compliance with the bulletin involves inspection of the fuel screen for damage. If damage is found, the screen and fuel plug must be replaced. If no damage is found, the screen should be cleaned and reinstalled.
Models included in this bulletin include Turbo Dakota, Turbo Arrow III and IV, Seneca models, and Malibu.
