Understanding the Wing Spar Eddy Current Inspection

If you own a Piper PA-28 or PA-32, the wing spar eddy current inspection is an important required inspection that directly affects the structural integrity of your airplane. The purpose of this inspection is to detect fatique-related cracking in critical bolt holes of the lower wing spar before the damage becomes severe enough to compromise safety.

Claims Settlement: The Basics

In the overall claims process the first thing the claims depart­ment recommends (after pilot and passenger safety) is to secure the aircraft. This means making sure that it is out of the way, locked up or tied down (if possible). Don’t be surprised if it’s not always possible to do this right away. Sometimes this happens the next day, or by a friend, or the local FBO.
